The vision is to develop educational leaders who create tomorrow\u2019s opportunities for young people through programs and work with PK-12 schools. NAU PEP faculty and leadership are committed to offering learner-centered programs that foster candidate success and integrate early authentic field experiences.<\/p>\n<p>The NAU PEP Initial Teacher Preparation Coordinating Council serves as an advisory committee to the Associate Dean of the College of Education &amp; Professional Education Programs regarding concerns and needs of the programs.<\/p>\n<h4>NAU Professional Education Programs (PEP) Initial Teacher Preparation Coordinating Council<\/h4>\n<p>Approved 10\/2\/2019 by NAU PEP Coordinating Council<\/p>\n<h5>Membership<\/h5>\n<p>The Coordinating Council representatives are comprised of administrative representatives, program leadership\/faculty representatives, and ex officio members as defined below.<\/p>\n<h5>Program leadership\/Faculty representatives<\/h5>\n<p>The NAU PEP Initial Teacher Preparation Coordinating Council has initial teacher preparation program leadership and faculty representatives based on the chart below related to program completer count for the past three academic years. There are a total of six program leader\/faculty representatives.\u00a0 The term for each program leadership\/faculty representative is for three years.\u00a0 Each college will determine their own process for selecting these representatives. A rotation will be established to ensure continuity among the membership. The individuals selected must have teaching or program coordination responsibilities for an initial teacher preparation program.<\/p>\n<p># of Program Leader\/Faculty Representatives based on the following chart:<br \/>\n0-50 = 0<br \/>\n51-400=1<br \/>\n401-800 = 2<br \/>\n801-1200 = 3<br \/>\n1201-1600 = 4<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these 11 members, the Associate Dean of the College of Education &amp; Professional Education Programs serves as the chair of the council. Decisions regarding policies or issues presented to the Council will be determined by consensus by the Administrative and Program Leadership\/Faculty Representatives.<\/p>\n<h5>Ex-officio representatives<\/h5>\n<p>The NAU PEP Initial Teacher Preparation Coordinating Council will also include ex officio members.\u00a0 The ex officio members (or their designee) are encouraged to be active participants in the Council by providing insight and perspective related to proposed or existing policies and issues that arise.\u00a0 Ex officio members include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dean, College of Education<\/li>\n<li>Dean, College of Arts &amp; Letters<\/li>\n<li>Dean, College of Engineering, Forestry, &amp; Natural Sciences<\/li>\n<li>Dean, College of Health &amp; Human Services<\/li>\n<li>Dean, Office of Graduate and Professional Studies or designee<\/li>\n<li>Executive Director, Advising<\/li>\n<li>Chair, Education Department, NAU Yuma<\/li>\n<li>Director, NAU Professional Education Programs (PEP)<\/li>\n<li>Senior Data &amp; Reporting Analyst, NAU PEP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>Chair &amp; administrative support<\/h5>\n<p>The NAU PEP Initial Teacher Preparation Coordinating Council will be chaired by the Associate Dean of the College of Education &amp; Professional Education Programs.
