Advisors help students with selecting a major, building a degree pathway, selecting classes each term, and navigating opportunities or resources that support their goals.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Find your advisor<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Students are assigned an advisor upon admission who specializes in their major area of study.\u00a0 If a student changes their major their advisor may change to reflect this new direction.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Undergraduate students<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Every undergraduate student at NAU is assigned to an Academic Advisor.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find your advisor\u2019s name and contact information in your <a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/louie\">LOUIE account<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Review the menu items under \u201cTalk to an Advisor\u201d for more details on how to schedule an appointment, drop-in, or reach out for help.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Graduate students<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Depending on your graduate program, you might be matched with an <strong>Academic Advisor<\/strong>, a <strong>Faculty Mentor<\/strong>, or a <strong>Graduate Coordinator<\/strong> or sometimes a combination of these roles.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate students enrolled in a professional education program should first check for an Academic Advisor assigned in their LOUIE account.<\/li>\n<li>If one is not listed, refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/admissions\/contact\/academic-advising-graduate-students\/\">Academic Advising for Graduate Students<\/a> webpage for details on connecting with your academic advisor or program coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Connect with your advisor<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Advisors are available in-person, by email, phone, and Teams.
