Professional Education Programs Leading to Licensure<\/h1>\n

Overview<\/h2>\n

NAU\u2019s Professional Education Programs (PEP) consists of 25 undergraduate and graduate programs across four colleges<\/a>, that prepare teachers, school leaders, and School psychologists. There were 1,760 candidates enrolled in initial teacher preparation programs during Fall 2024 and 495 graduates in AY 2023-2024. There were 313 candidates enrolled in advanced professional education programs in Fall 2024 and 146 graduates in AY 2023-2024. In 2017, NAU earned Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation<\/a> (CAEP) accreditation. In Fall 2024, NAU earned national accreditation from the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> (CAEP).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

PEP manages student teaching placements and <\/span><\/span>ensures that candidates meet outlined expectations for <\/span><\/span><\/span>student <\/span><\/span><\/span>teaching<\/span><\/span><\/span> .<\/span><\/span><\/span> PEP oversees the quality assurance system <\/span>established<\/span> to collect and <\/span>monitor<\/span> a<\/span><\/span>ssessment data, accreditation and state approval processes, and federal and state reporting for education programs leading to licensure<\/span><\/span><\/span>. PEP also manages the Arizona Teachers Academy (ATA), a scholarship that supports recruitment and retention of teachers for Arizona\u2019s public schools.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
