Law schools seek students with skills in logic, reasoning, writing, and oral communication. This means that entrance to law school does not require you to enroll in any particular major.<\/p>\n
Students who acquire certain skills before entering law school will be better prepared to manage the demands of their law school courses. As an undergraduate, take challenging courses requiring extensive writing, reading, critical analysis, and oral communication regardless of whether these courses are in your field of study. Participating in extracurricular activities and research projects can also develop your critical-thinking abilities.<\/p>\n
To assist you in developing these skills, NAU offers a pre-law major, two pre-law minors, and Honors College options\u2014among many other support services and resources\u2014as you plot your academic journey to reach your ambitious aspirations.<\/p>\n
A pre-law major is housed in the Department of Philosophy, resulting in a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, and Law<\/a>.<\/p>\n Two pre-law minors are available:<\/p>\n An additional way to develop many of the skills required for success in law school is to join the NAU Honors College. Honors classes are interactive, discussion-based seminars, where the focus is on critical thinking, writing, and oral presentation.
