Safe Walk Program<\/h2>\n

Take a walk on the safe side!<\/h2>\n

As the saying goes, “there’s safety in numbers.” NAUPD recommends always traveling in well lit areas where people are present to enhance your safety at night. We also offer safety escorts to individuals who feel uncomfortable walking alone on campus. Escorts are provided to individuals who wish to travel to and from on-campus destinations. Escorts are not provided to off-campus destinations except in special circumstances.<\/p>\n

Hours of operation<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

The Safe Walk program is available from dusk to dawn daily. The University Safety Aide program provides escort services from 9:00 pm to 3:00 am Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 pm to 12:00 am Sunday through Wednesday. Outside of those times, escort services are provided by patrol officers or police aides (wait times may be extended due to emergencies or priority calls for service).<\/p>\n

How to request an escort<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

A Safe Walk can be arranged by calling 928-523-3611<\/a> at the time the escort is needed. NAUPD does not schedule escorts in advance and escorts are assigned on a first come, first served basis. The dispatcher will advise you of an approximate wait time when you place the request.
