Mountain biking has a huge presence in Flagstaff, especially among college students looking for a way to blow off steam and have some fun. The only issue is that a lot of the biking trails are quite far away; they either require you to drive or bike there. But that doesn\u2019t have to be the case, because most people don\u2019t know that a huge part of the Arizona Trail is right at NAU\u2019s back doorstep.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re ever on south campus, looking for a way to exercise and get a good pedal in, then I recommend heading to this elaborate trail system. There are so many fun and flowy trails that appeal to a multitude of skill levels. The trails range from flat, twisty, and fast to chunky, long, and steep. I highly recommend these trials for a couple of reasons. One is that it is a part of the urban trail system and therefore connects to the Arizona Trial; for that reason, you\u2019ll see and communicate with a lot of people and possibly make some riding buddies. Another reason is the scenery that you\u2019ll be welcomed too; it doesn\u2019t get more beautiful than this. To get there, refer to the map directions below.<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Head northeast on E McConnell Dr<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Turn left onto S San Francisco St<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Slight right onto Arizona Trail<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Continue straight to stay on Arizona Trail<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Sharp left onto S Lone Tree Rd<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Turn right onto Brannen Cir\/S O’Leary St<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Turn left onto Arizona Trail<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Turn right to stay on Arizona Trail<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. From there, the entire trail system is at your fingertips, enjoy!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
