The entirety of the hike consists of beautiful pine trees, forgiving terrain, and inconceivably beautiful scenery. The trail is very well maintained and is considered to be a fantastic entry level hike. All throughout the ascent, you\u2019ll be greeted to encapsulating signs that describe the surrounding nature and the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">vegetation that is in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-landscape-image wp-image-1737 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/176\/pasted-image-0-464x348.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"464\" height=\"348\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slate Mountain is a fairly easy hike that deserves to be recognized. It is a beautiful 2.4-mile trail that promotes positivity and love for nature. It is great for beginners in that it only climbs about 800 feet, and the average grade is only about 4-5%. Slate Mountain is one of the few mountains in the San Francisco range that gives you a clear view of the major peaks as well as a clear cut scene of the Grand Canyon.
