Fall 2018 Mentors of the Moment
Tyler may be a first year, but his presence, energy, and involvement with Peer Jacks events come off like an expert returning peer mentor. He is always willing to go above and beyond what is expected and have a positive attitude doing it.
Since the fall peer mentor training, Tyler has stood out from the rest for several reasons, including working the Freshmen Welcome Dance where he stayed for all three shifts, even though he only got paid for two; despite only having played once, he led our Out-of-State Welcome Event social activity with gusto and expertise, taking directions and asking questions very well; he is constantly among the first people to respond to emails and texts, especially last-minute ones like the Emergency Phone Campaign reaching out to Texas students, where he arrived to help even without the necessary systems access or preparation; and, he is always the first one to ask if anyone else needs help before attending to his own needs.
Thank you, Tyler, for being such a rockstar as we begin our new school year!
Spring 2019 Mentors of the Moment
Coming soon… stay tuned!
Rebecca
In her years as a mentor Rebecca has proven herself as a valuable asset to Peer Jacks. She is consistently meeting with her students, even if it means staying late to make sure every student has their time. She has also shown her success as an event planner with her event, Flagstaff Cribz, taking it from idea to execution for multiple years. We are so glad to have Rebecca as part of Peer Jacks! Thank you Rebecca!
Darylle
Darylle recently returned this year as a mentor and showed she hasn’t been slacking in the off time. She is able to make great connections and have meaningful meetings with her students. After spending some time abroad, she was able to bring what she learned back to the program and help new mentors and returning mentors alike with all sorts of problem solving. Darylle’s hard work has shown and we are so happy to have her as a mentor. Thank you Darylle!
