Serving our mentees and the Lumberjack family
Our students, whether you are a freshman looking for a mentor or an upperclassman looking to be a mentor and grow professionally, are at the heart of what we do every day. The Peer Jacks program exists to serve our incoming first-year students as they find themselves and a new home at NAU. Our approach to mentorship is holistic and seeks to support students through their social, academic, and personal growth as they start their college journey.
We are so excited to welcome each of you to campus as we expand our program and develop one of the strongest mentor teams yet!
The Lounge
Think of this as your new family room, basement, game room, reading corner, or tree house. The Peer Jacks Lounge is your space! You can come here when you need a minute to catch your breath between classes, if you want to play a game of Jenga or Mario Cart with your new Peer Jacks friends, and of course, when you are meeting one-on-one with your mentor.
Anyone you see in this space is a friend, and you can come to each of us with your questions. The Peer Jacks mentors will be wearing their nametags, and our Assistant Director and Graduate Assistants have their offices in the corner. We’re here for our students and are happy to make this a safe and welcoming space for you.
We are located in the University Union Fieldhouse on North Campus. Look for the Louie statue by the Union Point. We are on the other side of the volleyball court, upstairs and through the Academic Success Centers.
