 \n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"aid\">How to ensure the most possible aid at NAU<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for federal financial aid, a student must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\">FAFSA<\/a>) using NAU\u2019s school code 001082<\/li><li>Have a high school diploma or equivalent.<\/li><li>Be admitted and enrolled in a degree-seeking program.<\/li><li>Be enrolled at least half-time (6+ credit hours per semester for undergraduate students) to be eligible for Direct Loan Program funds, a program allowing students and parents to borrow directly from the US Department of Education.<\/li><li>Be a US citizen or an eligible non-citizen.<\/li><li>Not be in default on a prior student loan and not owe back a refund or repayment on a grant or other federal loan.<\/li><li>Provide any requested documentation.<\/li><li>Maintain\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/office-scholarships-financial-aid\/satisfactory-academic-progress\/\">Satisfactory Academic Progress<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div Get in touch with the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid to learn more.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n                        <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n                                                        <\/a>\n                    <\/div>\n    <\/section>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fafsa\">FAFSA certification<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon signing the FAFSA, students certify that they:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Will use federal and\/or state student financial aid only to pay the cost of attending an institution of higher education,<\/li><li>Are not in default on a federal student loan or have made satisfactory arrangements to repay it,<\/li><li>Do not owe money back on a federal student grant or have made satisfactory arrangements to repay it,<\/li><li>Will notify NAU if they default on a federal student loan, and<\/li><li>Will not receive a Federal Pell Grant from more than one college for the same period of time.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon signing the FAFSA, students and parents certify that all of the information they provided is true and complete to the best of their knowledge and they agree, if asked, to provide information that will verify the accuracy of their completed application. This information may include U.S. or state income tax forms that they filed or are required to file. Also, they certify that they understand that the Secretary of Education has the authority to verify information reported on the FAFSA with the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies. If they electronically sign any document related to the federal student aid programs using an FSA ID (username and password) and\/or any other credential, they certify that they are the person identified by that username and password and\/or other credential, and have not disclosed that username and password and\/or other credential to anyone else.
