Curriculum<\/h3>\n

The program, which takes 28 months to complete including fieldwork education and the required capstone<\/a> experience in the final semester, is designed to produce transformative, competent, entry-level practice scholars. Graduates are prepared to innovatively and skillfully use meaningful occupational therapy as the mediator and facilitator between the person and environment.<\/p>\n

Research Projects<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Students participate in the Practice Scholar Apprenticeship (PSA) to experience participating in research teams and engage in practice-based and community-engaged research projects. During the first year of the program, students are placed into PSA teams and continue their work on the research projects for the remainder of the doctoral program. Participation in the program promotes scholarly endeavors that will describe and interpret the scope of the profession, establish new knowledge, and interpret and apply this knowledge to practice.<\/p>\n

Curriculum Threads<\/strong><\/h3>\n

To prepare for practitioner excellence, the majority of the courses have laboratory experiences and community experience in natural context. Some of the coursework is blended learning to maximize student\u2019s hands-on learning under the guidance of faculty supervision and mentoring.
