Graduates are Eligible to take the NBCOT Examination<\/h3>\n

Students must complete all graduation, fieldwork, and capstone rotation requirements in a timely manner. Students must complete Level II fieldwork and experiential requirements within 24 months following completion of the didactic portion of the program and prior to engaging in the residency component of the curriculum. NAU’s graduates are eligible to sit for the examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy\u00ae (NBCOT). After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). In addition, most states require licensure in order to practice. However, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination.<\/p>\n

A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT certification examination or attain state licensure. Visit the NBCOT website<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n
