Nominations are due no later than Monday, Aug. 29.<\/p>\n<p>Any tenured or tenure-track faculty member may nominate a qualified individual by submitting a completed nomination form and the nominee\u2019s curriculum vitae. Self-nominations are not accepted.<\/p>\n<p>Appointment as a Regents\u2019 professor is one of the highest honors that the university bestows on its faculty. The title is reserved for faculty with exceptional achievements that have brought them national and\/or international distinction and whose work is of superior quality according to standards set by leading scholars in the field.<\/p>\n<p>Nominees must also be teachers of exceptional ability who have interests and accomplishments extending beyond a particular specialty.<\/p>\n<p>Regents\u2019 professors are expected to serve as advisers to the president and provost, as well as to be available for activities throughout the university system.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nominations-sought-for-regents-professor\/\">Provost\u00a0Liz Grobsmith\u00a0is inviting nominations of tenured professors from all NAU campuses and disciplines for Regents\u2019 professor.
