A full list of STARS ratings was recently published by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.<\/p>\n<p>The list is compiled from self-reported data submitted by colleges and universities across the country. NAU is one of 110 STARS charter participants and included the rating system in its\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/ClimateActionPlan1.pdf\">Climate Action Plan 2010<\/a>\u00a0as a method for tracking sustainability initiatives on campus.<\/p>\n<p>NAU\u2019s rating was based on how well it met criteria in four categories: education and outreach; operations; planning, administration and engagement; and innovation.<\/p>\n<p>In a letter that accompanied the ratings submission, President\u00a0<strong>John Haeger<\/strong>\u00a0cited \u201cthe substantial and progressive sustainability work\u201d of NAU. \u201cThe university is highly committed to driving a sustainable future and a carbon-neutral campus.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nau-earns-stars-silver-rating-for-sustainability\/\">Northern Arizona University remains a leader in sustainability, according to the measure of a national organization committed to promoting sustainable practices in higher education.
