A partnership between Northern Arizona University and Follett, NAU\u2019s campus store\u00a0partner, will\u00a0make course materials available at a single price for NAU students\u00a0this\u00a0fall.<\/p>\n
The program, known as\u00a0NAU\u00a0Axe\/ess,\u00a0ensures that all\u00a0participating students receive their required course materials\u00a0at the start of the term for a predictable\u00a0price, regardless of\u00a0their\u00a0major or\u00a0the\u00a0retail price\u00a0of\u00a0individual materials.\u00a0With Axe\/ess,\u00a0all required course materials\u00a0are\u00a0available to all students\u00a0immediately\u00a0at the beginning of each\u00a0course, which will ensure that students are better positioned for success right from the start. Additionally, all materials\u00a0are included in\u00a0the $270 per semester\u00a0price,\u00a0so students can budget with confidence\u00a0with\u00a0no surprise costs.<\/p>\n
A\u00a02025 report from The College Board<\/a>\u00a0showed that U.S. students in four-year public universities spent an average of $1,330 annually on textbooks and supplies. NAU Axe\/ess, in keeping with its mission of accessibility, would save students about 50% of those costs.\u00a0In addition, the launch of this program is accompanied by\u00a0greater\u00a0investments in Open Educational Resources development, as an\u00a0additional\u00a0long-term investment in affordability.<\/p>\n \u201cNAU Axe\/ess is an important step in supporting our students\u2019\u00a0success and academic momentum, as well as making a college degree more affordable and accessible for students,\u201d said John Georgas<\/strong>, senior vice provost for academic operations.<\/p>\n Students are automatically enrolled in Axe\/ess but can\u00a0opt out\u00a0if the program does not make financial sense for any given semester.\u00a0This program is open to all undergraduate students enrolled at the Flagstaff campus or NAU Online. Digital course materials will be available on the first day of class in Canvas for $270 per semester.
