A new partnership offers a more accessible avenue for students to earn an online degree from Northern Arizona University.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NAU\u00a0is partnering with Campus, a fully online community college based in California. Campus students can earn an associate\u2019s degree in business or IT, then transfer to NAU Online to complete their bachelor\u2019s degrees. No credits are lost in the process thanks to the already\u00a0established\u00a0partnership, which means students\u00a0aren\u2019t\u00a0jumping through\u00a0extra hoops to enroll.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Carmin Chan<\/span><\/b>, vice president for NAU Online, said Campus approached NAU because of\u00a0the university\u2019s\u00a0extensive\u00a0online degree program\u00a0offerings.\u00a0Chan said NAU\u00a0and Campus\u00a0provide\u00a0similar levels\u00a0of support to online students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The partnership\u2019s goal is to provide a more convenient, affordable way to earn a degree,\u00a0no matter where a student is\u00a0located\u00a0or what else they have going on in their lives,\u00a0and to make the transition from Campus to NAU as seamless as possible.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMany transfer students\u00a0have additional challenges to completing their education\u2014they may be\u00a0paying their way through school with work and family commitments happening alongside their academics\u00a0or returning to college after some time away,\u201d Chan said. \u201cThis partnership will help them achieve\u00a0their educational\u00a0goals\u00a0while meeting students where they are.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Transferring to NAU<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As with all transfer students,\u00a0Campus students will apply through\u00a0<\/span>the transfer process<\/span><\/a>, said<\/span>\u00a0Christopher Mott<\/span><\/b>, the associate vice president for\u00a0strategic\u00a0enrollment and\u00a0marketing\u00a0at NAU. They have the advantage of\u00a0a high level\u00a0of transparency\u00a0regarding\u00a0credit transfer because of the partnership and NAU\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>JacksPath\u00a0tool<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An NAU support team\u00a0also will\u00a0reach out to Campus students prior to their transition into a bachelor\u2019s\u00a0degree\u00a0program. Mott said this outreach will help students remain on track for transfer\u00a0and\u00a0provide\u00a0an opportunity to talk through any challenges, which will\u00a0pave the way for their success\u00a0at NAU.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
