The 50 pieces will remain on display through Nov. 23.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit was co-juried by\u00a0<strong>George Speer<\/strong>, director of the NAU Art Museum, and\u00a0<strong>Jason Hess<\/strong>, associate professor of ceramics at NAU.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jason and I chose works that demonstrated innovative uses of the medium,&#8221; Speer said. &#8220;We also were struck by how many contributors evoked the body, nature and science of their submissions\u2014there are subtle themes sustained among the pieces.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Notable local artists in the show include NAU alumnus\u00a0<strong>Eugene Brosseau<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Steve Schaeffer<\/strong>, assistant professor of practice in NAU&#8217;s School of Art.<\/p>\n<p>The event is free and open to the public with a suggested $2 donation.
