Northern Arizona University\u2019s Department of Social Work is now the School of Social Work, reflecting NAU\u2019s innovative and impactful programs as well as its passion and commitment to students.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Deedee P\u00e9rez-Granados<\/span><\/b>, dean of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, believes this new designation will raise the school\u2019s profile and its unique commitment to serving the diverse and rural communities of the Southwest while strengthening its competitive position among peer institutions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis designation elevates the visibility and national presence of our social work programs to attract highly qualified students and faculty who will enable us to better meet increasing workforce demands for licensed social workers,\u201d P\u00e9rez-Granados said. \u201cIt also boosts our graduates\u2019 competitiveness on the job market and advances key program innovations such as the Field Supervisor Learning Academy and the Social Work Simulation Lab.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The NAU School of Social Work will continue to offer the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and the Master of Social Work (MSW) programs in Flagstaff, online and at the NAU Yuma campus, preparing the next generation of professional social workers who will not only have a positive impact in the communities they serve, but also address increasing workforce demands for licensed social workers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
