They closed the contest\u2014and their 2024-25 outdoor track and field season\u2014flying high with several All-American honors and personal-best finishes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Three runners led the pack with first-team All-American honors, including sophomore <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Maggi Congdon<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, who finished third in the women&#8217;s 1,500-meter on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nauathletics.com\/news\/2025\/6\/14\/track-field-nau-track-and-field-concludes-outdoor-season-with-two-first-team-all-americans.aspx\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">June 14<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> with a time of 4:09.31. Congdon reached the event finals after placing ninth in the 1,500-meter at last season\u2019s NCAA Outdoor Championships and eighth overall in the event\u2019s preliminary round this year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On the same day, graduate student <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Agnes McTighe<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> finished the women\u2019s 5,000-meter with the sixth-fastest time in program history and a personal best of 15:35.87, placing seventh overall to earn a first-team All-American honor. Sophomore <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ava Mitchell <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">also completed the event with a 22nd-place finish to earn an honorable mention All-American.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Senior <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">David Mullarkey <\/span><\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/nauathletics.com\/news\/2025\/6\/13\/track-field-mullarkey-bosley-cap-off-the-outdoor-season-with-strong-finishes-at-the-ncaa-di-championships.aspx\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">earned<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> a first-team All-American honor for his sixth-place finish in the men\u2019s 10,000-meter and a second-team All-American nod for his 10th-place finish at the men\u2019s 5,000-meter two days later. Redshirt sophomore <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Drew Bosley<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> joined Mullarkey in both events, securing honorable mentions with a 20th- and 17th-place finish, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the women\u2019s 3,000-meter steeplechase on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nauathletics.com\/news\/2025\/6\/12\/track-field-balogas-school-record-highlights-action-on-day-two-of-ncaa-outdoor-championships.aspx\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">June 12<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, sophomore <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Karrie Baloga <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">saw a three-second personal best that was less than half a second away from beating the Big Sky Conference record. Placing third in her heat and eighth overall, she moved on to the event finals two days later and finished in 12th place with a second-team All-American nod.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Two Lumberjacks\u2014junior <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Trevor Hook <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and sophomore <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">LiNay Perry<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u2014were the first in NAU history to advance to the NCAA Championships for their events: the men\u2019s javelin and the women\u2019s 400-meter hurdles. Hook finished as a second-team All-American with a javelin toss of 67.84 meters, placing 15th. Perry came home with an honorable mention All-American nod at 20th place after breaking her school record at the NCAA West preliminary round.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Freshman <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Colin Sahlman <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">earned an honorable mention All-American after placing 19th in the men\u2019s 1,500-meter semifinals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the end, the NAU women\u2019s team tied for 34th overall and the men\u2019s team tied for 58th.
