The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>For information, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utv62.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.utv62.org<\/a> or contact <strong>Craig Alameda<\/strong>, station promotions manager, at <a href=\"mailto:ca288@nau.edu\">ca288@nau.edu<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>When NAU students channel surf to find that perfect entertainment experience, they may want to consider UTV 62, a station produced specifically with them in mind.<\/p>\n<p>UTV 62 is a television station on the university&#8217;s campus cable system that is entirely student managed and produced.<\/p>\n<p>From programming and promotion to traffic and production, students gain real-world television industry experience, said\u00a0<strong>Paul Helford<\/strong>, professor of electronic media and film and faculty adviser to UTV 62.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What I&#8217;m most impressed with is that the station&#8217;s on-air presence has grown from showing nothing but slides a year ago to a 24\/7 full program schedule targeted to the NAU student viewer,&#8221; Helford said.<\/p>\n<p>Although the student channel has been in existence since spring 2007, it has recently experienced a surge in employees and content.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This semester is our kick off as a real station,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Josh Garcia<\/strong>, sophomore electronic media and film major and UTV 62 station manager. &#8220;We now have a ton of student-produced content and have grown from five to around 40 employees.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The content featured on UTV 62 includes original shows, including\u00a0<em>NAULive!<\/em>, Arizona&#8217;s only live student-run newscast.
