The President\u2019s Prize, Gold Axe awards and the Distinguished Senior awards for the Class of 2024 were honored at a ceremony on Nov. 12. Vice President of Student Affairs <\/span>Margot Saltonstall<\/span><\/b>, in presenting the awards, highlighted the accomplishments, service and scholarship of this class as she recognized students from each college.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The students came from a pool of applicants selected by the Office of Leadership & Engagement. The program is co-sponsored by the Office of the President, NAU Alumni and ASNAU. This year\u2019s class included 30 Gold Axe winners, including three President\u2019s Prize winners\u2014the highest honor awarded to undergraduate students. Additionally, 10 students were honored as Distinguished Seniors of their colleges.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a special event that recognizes the achievements of these students and the differences they have made at NAU and in their community near and far, where the impact of their service and advocacy outside of the classroom are felt so profoundly,\u201d said Saltonstall in sharing remarks from President <\/span>Jos\u00e9 Luis Cruz Rivera<\/span><\/b>, who was unable to attend. \u201cWe are all humbled and inspired for the opportunity every semester to recognize our Lumberjacks who have accomplished so much and contributed to and enriched our community in so many ways.\u201d\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
