The study uses data from the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera to classify the characteristics of preserved ancient geological features on Mars\u2019 surface.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Former postdoctoral researcher <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Aur\u00e9lien Stcherbinine<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and Edwards aand <\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">co-authored an article analyzing the accuracy of Martian cloud <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0019103524003956\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">optical depth measurements<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> in the journal Icarus.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Doctoral student<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Lucas McClure<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, professor <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Josh Emery<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, associate professor <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Cristina Thomas <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and alum <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Riley Williams<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, all with APS, authored the article \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2409.18306\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Size-Based Spectrophotometric Analysis of the Polana-Eulalia Complex<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201d in Icarus. The study looks at how the size of asteroids in the Polana-Eulalia Complex belt affects their spectral slopes. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">APS associate professor <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Chad Trujillo <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">co-authored the paper \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2410.00108\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">New Moons of Uranus and Neptune from Ultra-Deep Pencil Beam Surveys<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u201d published in the Astronomical Journal. The study details the discovery of one new moon orbiting Uranus and two moons orbiting Neptune based on three years of satellite imaging.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">APS graduate research assistant <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ryder Strauss <\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">was the first author of a paper detailing the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2410.01147\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">discovery of three superfast rotators<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, or solar system objects that rotate faster than expected, in the DECam Ecliptic Exploration Project (DEEP) data set.
