Looking back at NAU history not only allows us to see where we have been, but also provides great historical context for who we are as Lumberjacks and what the future might have in store for us. As NAU prepares to celebrate its 125th anniversary, I wanted to help highlight NAU’s history for students, faculty, staff and alumni. As I begin the Lumberjack Flashback spot in The NAU Review, I must give a big shout-out to staff with the Cline Library Special Collections and Archives team, who digitized 100+ years of The Pine and The Lumberjack student newspaper; making this project much more doable. Keep an eye out for my monthly flashbacks in The NAU Review, and I hope you enjoy looking back at the archives of these news outlets over NAU’s 100+ year history!
