The Northern Arizona University Choral Studies area will present its annual Winter Festival of Choirs, beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in Ardrey Auditorium.<\/p>\n
The concert features three ensembles performing a diverse program of traditional, contemporary and multicultural choral music.<\/p>\n
Tickets are available at the door or in advance by calling NAU Central Ticketing at (928) 523-5661. Adults are $12, faculty staff and seniors are $10, and students are free with an ID.<\/p>\n
The Harold M. Harter Memorial Handbell Choir, conducted by graduate teaching assistant\u00a0Robert McGrath<\/strong>, will play\u00a0Outbursts of Joy\u00a0<\/em>by Cynthia Dobrinski,\u00a0A Festal Song\u00a0<\/em>by Donald Noller,\u00a0Elegy<\/em>by William Payne and close with the theme from the Disney film\u00a0Pirates of the Caribbean.<\/em><\/p>\n Erica Kragness<\/strong>, graduate teaching assistant, will conduct the University Singers. This ensemble will sing\u00a0Gloria<\/em>\u00a0by\u00a0Nate Youmans<\/strong>, NAU graduate student,\u00a0The Water is Wide<\/em>\u00a0arranged by Ren\u00e9 Clausen, and\u00a0Ask the Watchman<\/em>\u00a0arranged by Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory.<\/p>\n Edith A. Copley<\/strong>, director of choral studies, will conduct the Shrine of the Ages Choir for its performance of a two-movement work by Michael Hennigen titled\u00a0Give Me the Splendid Silent Sun<\/em>and Alice Parker’s arrangement of\u00a0Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
