Every year, millions of individuals fall victim to cybercrime\u2014one every 22 seconds, in fact.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the <\/span>Identity Theft Resource Center<\/span><\/a>, there were more than 400 million <\/span>victims of identity theft in 2022<\/span><\/b> alone. According to the <\/span>Consumer Sentinel Network report<\/span><\/a> and the <\/span>National Council on Identity Theft Protection<\/span><\/a>, identity theft and imposter scams are the two most common types of fraud reports, which totaled nearly <\/span>$5.9 billion in consumer losses in 2021<\/span><\/b>. When looking at the average cost for individuals, 65 percent of all fraud reports cost the victim up to $1,000, and 9 percent of victims lost more than $10,000.\u00a0 At the same time, identifying scams is becoming more difficult as the attacks get more sophisticated. But that doesn\u2019t mean that there aren\u2019t measures we all can take to help ensure a safe internet experience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
