He is the only author from Arizona and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/story\/news\/local\/arizona-environment\/2022\/04\/05\/latest-international-climate-change-report-calls-quick-action\/7269318001\/\">AZ Central<\/a> has written two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azcentral.com\/story\/news\/local\/arizona-environment\/2022\/04\/06\/u-n-climate-report-calls-solutions-reduce-risks-equitably\/9461101002\/\">articles<\/a> about how this climate report relates to the state.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nauesports.com\/\"><strong>NAU Esports<\/strong><\/a><strong> League of Legends Team<\/strong> won the Big Sky Conference with a 20-0 record. This is the team\u2019s first major Esports title, and they have qualified for the Collegiate Championships.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Northern Arizona University<\/strong> is ranked No. 32 overall for its journalism and broadcasting program by the <a href=\"https:\/\/beaweb.org\/festival\/2022-school-rankings\/\">Broadcasting Education Association<\/a>. NAU also ranked No. 21 for its audio program, No. 16 for its news program and No. 13 for its sports program.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Northern Arizona University<\/strong> has been ranked in the top 5 percent of all universities worldwide by the <a href=\"https:\/\/cwur.org\/2021-22.php\">Center for World University Rankings<\/a>. This ranking is out of 19,788 universities and is based on education, employability, faculty and research.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charn McAllister<\/strong>, assistant professor in The W. A. Franke College of Business, has published an article titled <a href=\"https:\/\/sloanreview.mit.edu\/article\/equity-in-the-hybrid-office\/\">\u201cEquity in the Hybrid Workplace.\u201d<\/a> The article discusses how both managers and employees can work together to maintain equity between in-person, remote and hybrid work arrangements.<\/li>\n<li><strong>NAUPD<\/strong> has been reaccredited for the ninth time by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. <strong>Missy Freshour<\/strong>, chief of police and associate vice president of Public Safety, sat before the commission board and received NAUPD\u2019s meritorious designation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ava Neyestani<\/strong> was named Big Sky Women\u2019s Tennis Player of the Week. This follows her perfect 4-0 run against the University of Montana. This is the third consecutive week an NAU women\u2019s tennis player has won this award.<\/li>\n<li>NAU alum <strong>Temperance Tinker-Kays<\/strong> was awarded with a $25,000 Milken Educator award for her work as an English teacher at West High School in Anchorage, Alaska. She graduated from NAU in 2003 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in anthropology.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Richard McNeill<\/strong>, professor in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, is a co-author on a recently published article titled \u201cTime for Change: Tools Enhancing Competitive Advantage in the Wine Business.\u201d This article uses South Africa as a case study to understand strategy implementation in the win industry.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sanjam Ahluwalia<\/strong>, professor and director of women\u2019s and gender studies and professor of history, has received a Senior Short-Term Research Fellowship from the American Institute of Indian Studies. Ahluwali will conduct archival research in India, examining English and Hindi language films produced by the Films Division of India (FDI) from the 1940s-2000s and explore FDI\u2019s messaging on population control, family planning and small families\u2019 abilities to ensure and bestow bourgeois familial happiness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/in-the-spotlight-april-11-15\/\">Kudos to these faculty, staff, students and programs Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
