Eunson award for his work as a sports editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The award ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on March 31 in Room 119 in the School of Communication and will feature the Distinguished Journalist Lecture, delivered by Bob \u201cBoze\u201d Bell, the editor and publisher of True West Magazine.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>College of Engineering, Informatics, and Applied Sciences Construction Management student teams<\/strong> won first place in the Heavy Civil category and third place in the Commercial category of the <a href=\"https:\/\/asc67.org\/index.html\">ASC Reno Region Student Competition<\/a>. Student <strong>Cameron Baird<\/strong> also won the individual award for Best Presenter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Northern Arizona University<\/strong> is ranked as one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.criminaljusticedegreehub.com\/arizona-criminal-justice-programs\/\">10 Best Online Criminal Justice Programs in Arizona<\/a> by Criminal Justice Degree Hub. This ranking is based on tuition rate, student satisfaction and graduate salary.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laura Wasylenki<\/strong>, an associate professor in the School of Earth and Sustainability, has been awarded a $447,000 grant from the National Science Foundation\u2019s Chemical Oceanography program. Wasylenki and Ph.D. student <strong>Eva Baransky<\/strong> will analyze marine sediments and perform experiments to determine what factors govern how much dissolved nickel is in the global oceans.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skyler Bordeaux<\/strong>, a student in the master of public health\u2013health promotion program, was recently awarded the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/cher\/bordeaux-awarded-twice-as-distinguished-graduate-student\/\">Distinguished Graduate Student<\/a> for both the Department of Health Sciences and the MPH-Indigenous Health Track. Bordeaux is also a graduate assistant in the Center for Health Equity Research.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Emily Cluff<\/strong>, a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences; <strong>Carina C. Magdaleno<\/strong>, a research technician in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry; <strong>Emyly Fernandez<\/strong>, a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences; <strong>Trenton House<\/strong>, a research assistant in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry; <strong>Archana Varadaraj<\/strong>, an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry; <strong>Narendiran Rajasekaran<\/strong>, an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and other researchers recently published <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s00262-021-03126-9\">\u201cHypoxia-Inducible Factor-1 Alpha Expression is Induced by IL-2 via the P13K\/mTOR pathway in Hypoxic NK Cells and Supports Effector Functions in NKL Cells and Ex Vivo Expanded NK Cells\u201d<\/a> in <em>Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy<\/em>. The article explains how NK cells can be more effective against solid tumors with the help of a nodal regulator.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Amit Kumar<\/strong>, an assistant professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training, and <strong>Indrakshi Roy<\/strong>, a biostatistician for the Center for Health Equity Research, and researchers from other institutions published <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1093\/ptj\/pzab313\">&#8220;Impact of Hospital-Based Rehabilitation Services on Discharge to the Community by Value-Based Payment Programs after Joint Replacement Surgery&#8221;<\/a> in <em>Physical Therapy<\/em>. The article evaluates how rehabilitation services affect discharge rates of knee replacement patients.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Samantha Sabo<\/strong>, an associate professor in the Department of Health Sciences and the Center for Health Equity Research, and researchers from other institutions published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frontiersin.org\/articles\/10.3389\/fpubh.2022.790015\/full\">&#8220;Development of an American Indian Diabetes Education Cultural Supplement: A Qualitative Approach&#8221;<\/a> in <em>Frontiers in Public Health<\/em>.
