{"id":64769,"date":"2021-12-06T10:29:48","date_gmt":"2021-12-06T17:29:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/?p=64769"},"modified":"2021-12-15T12:38:14","modified_gmt":"2021-12-15T19:38:14","slug":"commencement-fall-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/commencement-fall-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Back in the Skydome: NAU honors 2021 graduating class in two ceremonies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For the first time in two years,\u00a0Northern Arizona University will\u00a0be back in the Walkup\u00a0Skydome\u00a0to celebrate the\u00a0graduating class of fall\u00a02021.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">NAU will host two ceremonies celebrating the almost\u00a02,800\u00a0students who have applied to graduate this year. The ceremonies will be at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 10.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0ceremonies are held in the J. Gustafson, who was a first-generation college student, focuses on the role of Honors programming in making academic excellence accessible, particularly for higher education. He earned degrees in English and studies medieval and early modern literature, especially vernacular religious writing in 14<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">-century England, 15<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">&#8211; and 16<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">-century literature, rhetoric and pedagogy,\u00a0and Honors administration.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What to know about travel and\u00a0parking<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>When driving through campus on Friday, please remember:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The busiest times on campus for traffic will be from 8-10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4:30-6 p.m. Driving on campus should be relatively hassle free between 10-11:30 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m. if you are able to take advantage of these times.<\/li>\n<li>If you do not need to be driving on campus or through campus on Friday, please consider an alternate route.<\/li>\n<li>If you must drive on campus on Friday, please give yourself extra time to reach your destination and understand you may not be able to take a direct route.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Parking is available at multiple locations across campus as well as shuttles from the South Commuter parking lot (P62), San Francisco parking garage (P96) and an ADA accessible route along Lone Tree Road.\u202f<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/NAU-Commencement-traffic-map-spread.pdf\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A map can be found online<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.
