He was awarded first place in dramatic interpretation, second place in persuasion and third place in impromptu speaking.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Northern Arizona University<\/strong> has been awarded as offering one of the best online bachelor\u2019s programs in environmental science by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bachelorsdegreecenter.org\/best-online-environmental-science-degrees\/\">Bachelor\u2019s Degree Center<\/a>. This ranking is based on cost, graduate salary and student reviews.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Catrin Edgeley<\/strong>, assistant professor in the School of Forestry, has been named an <a href=\"https:\/\/news.ucar.edu\/132817\/ncar-names-second-cohort-early-career-faculty-innovators\">Early Career Faculty Innovator<\/a> by the National Center for Atmospheric Research. She is one of 12 faculty members chosen for this program and will receive two years of funding for her research on improving social adaptation to wildfire through informed evacuation planning and decision making.<\/li>\n<li>Forestry professor <strong>Rich Hofstetter<\/strong>, alongside Kamal Gandhi of the University of Georgia, has recently co-edited and published a new book on bark beetles. The book is titled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/books\/bark-beetle-management-ecology-and-climate-change\/gandhi\/978-0-12-822145-7\">\u201cBark Beetle Management, Ecology, and Climate Change\u201d<\/a> and explores the effects of global warming upon bark beetles and their host trees.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Janna Jones<\/strong>, a professor in the School of Communication, was recently awarded 12 major screenplay awards and an additional 13 awards for four of her screenplays. \u201cAbout Gabriel\u201d won four international awards and is a finalist in seven, \u201cMALLed\u201d won one international award and is a finalist in four, \u201cShelter\u201d won two international awards and \u201cPast Due\u201d won five international awards and is a finalist for five other awards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jaime Awe<\/strong>, an associate professor of anthropology, recently authored a book chapter titled \u201cArcheological Evidence for the Preclassic Origins of the Maya Creation Story and the Resurrection of the Maize God at Cahal Pech, Belize\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/j.ctv1z52356\">\u201cThe Myths of the Popol Vuh in Cosmology, Art, and Ritual.\u201d<\/a> Awe also recently co-authored the book chapter titled \u201cSacrifice of the Maize God: Re-creating Creation in the Main Chamber of Actun Tunichil Muknal, Belize\u201d for the edited volume published by the University Press of Colorado.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Daniel Keller<\/strong>, instructor in the Department of English, and <strong>Jesse Egbert<\/strong>, associate professor of applied linguistics, have co-authored an article in the Brooklyn Law Review titled <a href=\"https:\/\/brooklynworks.brooklaw.edu\/blr\/vol86\/iss2\/7\/\">&#8220;Hypothesis Testing Ordinary Meaning&#8221;.<\/a> This article introduces new methods for analyzing linguistic data from a large sample of natural language to aid judges, lawyers and legal scholars in their efforts to interpret the ordinary meaning of words in legal statutes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>T. Mark Montoya<\/strong>, director and associate professor of ethnic studies, authored a chapter titled \u201cCustodians of Student Success: Campus Citizenship in the Borderlands.\u201d The chapter is published in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.routledge.com\/Campus-Service-Workers-Supporting-First-Generation-Students-Informal-Mentorship\/Guzman-Miles-Youngblood\/p\/book\/9781032050850\">\u201cCampus Service Workers Supporting First-Generation Students: Informal Mentorship and Culturally Relevant Support as Key to Student Retention and Success,\u201d<\/a> which aims to dismantle notions of social hierarchies that separate service workers and college students, particularly those who are first-generation and\/or minoritized, and encourages institutions to invest in these workers and their important contributions to student success.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Northern Arizona University<\/strong> has been awarded for offering one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zdnet.com\/article\/best-online-management-degree\/\">best online management degrees<\/a> by ZD Net.
