The study developed a one-dimensional time-stepping atmospheric structure code to explore phenomenon from variations in instellations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Luke Plonsky<\/strong>, associate professor of applied linguistics, delivered a keynote address titled, \u201cMeasuring up: Psychometric concerns and contributions of meta-analysis\u201d at an online conference hosted by Queen\u2019s University Belfast in Northern Ireland. The conference, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/researchsynthesisseminar.weebly.com\/\">Research Synthesis In Applied Linguistics: Facilitating Research-Pedagogy Dialogue<\/a>,\u201d promoted values and practices of research synthesis, discussed methodological traditions and issues and facilitated interdisciplinary dialogues.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Morgan Vigil-Hayes<\/strong>, assistant professor in the School of Informatics, Computing, and Cyber Systems, was featured in the article, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/azdailysun.com\/news\/local\/tackling-tribal-connectivity-nau-scientist-vigil-hayes-developing-broadband-solutions-for-rural-areas\/article_5ddc9ee9-285e-5f38-89bc-757d4ff0109a.html\">Tackling tribal connectivity: NAU scientist Vigil-Hayes developing broadband solutions for rural areas<\/a>\u201d published by the Arizona Daily Sun. She discussed the social and political challenges of expanding broadband to tribal communities.<\/li>\n<li>Assistant professor of art <strong>Jaewook Lee<\/strong> participated in two film shows in South Korea. Her two films were, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/this_is_not_a_church\/\">Treatise on Rhythm, Color, and Birdsong Screening<\/a>,\u201d which was a solo film screening, and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/altmuma.kr\/forum\/view\/132315\">Road Test, Hiking Test<\/a>,\u201d which was part of a group show.<\/li>\n<li>The Center for Ecosystem Science and Society had several faculty members publish papers.\n<ul>\n<li>Postdoctoral scholar <strong>Enqing Hou<\/strong>, research associate <strong>Lifen Jiang<\/strong>, graduate student <strong>Keanan Allen<\/strong>, and Regents\u2019 professor <strong>Yiqi Luo<\/strong> co-authored the article, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1111\/ele.13761\">Latitudinal patterns of terrestrial phosphorus limitation over the globe<\/a>.&#8221; The study, published in Ecology Letters, reconciled conflicting evidence about the geographical extent of phosphorus limitation on plant growth, and suggested the nutrient is a key limiting factor not just in the tropics, but in all terrestrial ecosystems.<\/li>\n<li>Luo also co-authored the article, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41558-021-01059-w\">Tradeoff of CO<sub>2<\/sub> and CH<sub>4<\/sub> emissions from global peatlands under water-table drawdown<\/a>.\u201d The study, published in Nature Climate Change, showed that as peatlands dry out under climate warming, they will release more CO<sub>2<\/sub> and less methane.<\/li>\n<li>Regents\u2019 professor <strong>Michelle Mack<\/strong> and assistant research professor <strong>Xanthe Walker<\/strong> co-authored the article, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S2468584421000490\">Direct and longer-term carbon emissions from arctic-boreal fires: A short review of recent advances<\/a>&#8221; published in Current Opinion in Environmental Science and Health. The studied found that soil is the main source of carbon emissions in Arctic-boreal fires.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dennis Foster<\/strong>, senior lecturer in the W. A. Franke College of Business, was featured in a response to the article, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/wallethub.com\/credit-cards\/balance-transfer\/#expert=Dennis_Foster\">0% Balance Transfer Credit Cards<\/a>\u201d published on WalletHub. He discussed the best way to find the right balance transfer credit card.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hao (Howard) Qi<\/strong>, professor in the W. A.
