{"id":62394,"date":"2021-04-06T09:40:52","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T16:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/?p=62394"},"modified":"2021-04-06T09:40:52","modified_gmt":"2021-04-06T16:40:52","slug":"latinx-convocation-awards-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/latinx-convocation-awards-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for nominations: Hispanic\/Latinx Convocation Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Hispanic Student Convocation Committee is seeking nominations to recognize three outstanding Latino graduating seniors and one outstanding graduate student.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>C\u00e9sar Ch\u00e1vez Award<\/strong>: Recognizes students with strong leadership skills, a demonstrated care and concern for fellow students and a history of involvement on behalf of the Hispanic community<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz Award<\/strong>: Recognizes students with demonstrated leadership abilities, strong attachments to their cultural heritage and demonstrated advocacy regarding women\u2019s rights<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gabriela Mistral Award<\/strong>: Recognizes students with a strong commitment to education and to promoting multicultural understanding<\/li>\n<li><strong>Outstanding Hispanic Graduate Student<\/strong>: Recognizes a graduate student with strong leadership skills who serves as a positive role model for their undergraduate colleagues, demonstrates care and concern for fellow students and possesses a history of involvement on behalf of the Hispanic community<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The convocation committee will select the specific award type for each nominee.<\/p>\n<p>To nominate a student, <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/sy1WCuTXhxt5tXBW6\">fill out the nomination form<\/a>.
