The study presents a deep imaging and spectroscopic search for emission from (3200) Phaethon using the Lowell Discovery Telescope.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Shi Chen<\/strong>, doctoral candidate in applied linguistics, received a Doctoral Dissertation Award from Duolingo. The funding will support dissertation research that seeks to develop and validate a web-based test of pragmatics for speakers of English as a second language.<\/li>\n<li>Sophomore basketball player <strong>Emily Rodabaugh<\/strong> earned her first Big Sky Women\u2019s Basketball Player of the Week Award in the season\u2019s opening week. She averaged 20.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in NAU\u2019s first two games.<\/li>\n<li>Four political science and international affairs students were awarded Spring 2021 internships with the Arizona Legislature and will earn 12 credit hours and be paid to work full-time for the spring semester. <strong>Mariah Gonzales<\/strong> will work for the Arizona Supreme Court. <strong>Nicole Campbell<\/strong>, <strong>Sidney Ferreira<\/strong> and <strong>Maelinn Chow<\/strong> will work for the Arizona House of Representatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/student-spotlight-dec-4-2020\/\">Kudos to these students Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
