{"id":60893,"date":"2020-10-05T13:52:52","date_gmt":"2020-10-05T20:52:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/?p=60893"},"modified":"2020-10-05T13:52:52","modified_gmt":"2020-10-05T20:52:52","slug":"warm-clothing-drive-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/warm-clothing-drive-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Two decades of service: Donate to NAU&#8217;s Annual Warm Clothing Drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 20<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Warm Clothing Drive, sponsored by Northern Arizona University\u2019s Classified Staff Advisory Council (CSAC), in partnership with the NAU Student Philanthropy Council, is being held from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p>This is an opportunity to donate new and gently used clothing items for all ages and genders. Organizers hope to collect heavy coats, gloves, sweaters, hats, blankets, socks and jeans.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to clothing, the drive is accepting soups and non-perishable food items to support Louie\u2019s Cupboard, the on-campus food pantry created to assist students with food costs while in school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal for this year is purely and simply to collect as much needed items\u2014warm clothing and food\u2014for the NAU and Flagstaff communities,\u201d said <strong>Anthony Caniglia<\/strong>, CSAC president and program coordinator for admissions. \u201cWith the pandemic occurring, this has created even more of a need of these items to assist individuals and families with hardships they may be facing during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the drive collected 1,951 pieces of clothing and 595 grocery items.
