{"id":60265,"date":"2020-07-23T16:34:49","date_gmt":"2020-07-23T23:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/?p=60265"},"modified":"2020-07-24T08:28:38","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T15:28:38","slug":"in-the-student-spotlight-july-24-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/in-the-student-spotlight-july-24-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"In the Student Spotlight: July 24, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kudos to these students<\/p>\n<p>Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?<\/p>\n<p>E-mail your announcements to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Inside@nau.edu\">Inside@nau.edu<\/a>, or use our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/news-tip\/\">online submission form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Marley Oakes<\/strong>, a history major and student employee in Cline Library, Special Collections and Archives (SCA) recently curated the virtual exhibit <em><a href=\"https:\/\/library.nau.edu\/speccoll\/exhibits\/scaexhibits\/flagstaff2020\/\">Flagstaff 2020: A Clear Vision<\/a>. <\/em>The exhibit draws upon documents, ephemera, photographs, video recordings and oral history interviews from the <a href=\"http:\/\/azarchivesonline.org\/xtf\/view?docId=ead\/nau\/flagstaff_2020.xml\">Flagstaff 2020 Records<\/a>\u00a0created during the Flagstaff 2020 citizen\u2019s visioning project. The exhibit provides a retrospective view of the 1996-97 project. It summarizes all aspects of the community visioning process and provides insight into whether and how the community\u2019s vision for the greater Flagstaff area in the year 2020 was realized. With project manager and SCA archivist for Discovery <strong>Samantha Meier<\/strong>, the exhibit kicked off via a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NAUCL\/videos\/1014708362259661\/\">virtual opening<\/a>\u00a0on July 2\u00a0 and included NAU professor <strong>Fred Solop<\/strong> and NAU alumna <strong>Kathy Turner<\/strong>. A recording of the opening is viewable on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/live\/?v=1014708362259661&amp;ref=watch_permalink\">Cline Library\u2019s Facebook page<\/a>.
