- Kimberley Kern<\/strong> was selected as a winner of the 2020 Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship competition<\/a>. Kern will receive $8,500 to help fund her graduate school career. This is the second year in a row an NAU student has received funding.<\/li>\n
- Four swimming and diving student-athletes were named to the 2020 Scholar All-America Team selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association. Jenny Cheetham<\/strong> was awarded a first-team selection, while Lainie Bell<\/strong>, Elisa Rodriguez<\/strong> and Hope Williams<\/strong> all received honorable mentions.<\/li>\n
- For the first time in program history, the NAU men\u2019s basketball team earned the Team Academic Excellence Award by the National Association of Basketball Coaches for averaging a team GPA of 3.13. Graduates Brooks DeBisschop<\/strong> and Bernie Andre<\/strong>, along with current seniors Luke Avdalovic<\/strong>, Nik Mains<\/strong> and Davy Cummard<\/strong>, led the team academically and were named to the Honors Court for holding a grade point average of 3.2 or higher.<\/li>\n
- The NAU men\u2019s and women\u2019s track and field programs were both named as All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Eight student-athletes were recognized individually. The men\u2019s team was represented by Geordie Beamish<\/strong>, Tyler Day<\/strong>, Blaise Ferro<\/strong>, Theo Quax<\/strong>, Ryan Raff<\/strong>, Cade Burks<\/strong> and Parker Joens<\/strong>. Bryn Morley<\/strong> represented the women\u2019s team.<\/li>\n
