To help protect yourself and others, follow the guidelines laid out by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/index.html\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.state.gov\/coronavirus\/\">U.S. State Department<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.azdhs.gov\/preparedness\/epidemiology-disease-control\/infectious-disease-epidemiology\/index.php#novel-coronavirus-home\">Arizona Department of Health and Safety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the latest information about NAU\u2019s response. Refer to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/coronavirus\/\">nau.edu\/coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0for updates.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Events, commencement and summer classes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>All university events through May 31 have been cancelled. This includes the in-person spring commencement ceremonies, convocations and related events. All summer academic sessions that start in May will be delivered online. NAU has not yet made a decision on classes starting later in the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Given that changes are taking place on a daily basis, NAU will make decisions on future events and classes 30 days in advance. Updates will be released on the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/coronavirus\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Pass\/Fail grading<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Effective immediately and for this semester only, all undergraduate and graduate students (with the exception of students in Personalized Learning programs) may convert Spring 2020 classes to Pass\/Fail (P\/F) grading with certain limitations.<\/p>\n<p>Students may submit requests to change the grading scale for classes by submitting the Request to Change Grading Basis <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_6WIN0gJuTJUAV25\">form<\/a>. Student have until May 2 to request Pass\/Fail grading for a Spring 2020 class. Faculty will continue to assign grades as specified in the course syllabus.<\/p>\n<p>See the Office of the Registrar <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/registrar\/\">website<\/a> for more details.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Spring 2020 housing and dining credits<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>NAU will issue students who are able to move out of NAU residential housing by\u00a0<strong>April 16<\/strong> a credit that represents 25 percent of the spring semester&#8217;s housing and dining charges, which will be applied to outstanding balances that are on each student\u2019s account for those items. If a student has a credit balance after these are applied to spring housing or dining charges, that credit will be applied to any fall 2020 semester charges.
