Northern Arizona University continues to monitor the COVID-19 outbreak and adjust campus operations accordingly. For an updated number of cases in Coconino County, visit the\u00a0Coconino County Health and Human Services website<\/a>. To help protect yourself and others, follow the guidelines laid out by the\u00a0Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)<\/a>, the\u00a0U.S. State Department<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Arizona Department of Health and Safety<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Below is the latest information about NAU\u2019s response. Refer to\u00a0nau.edu\/coronavirus<\/a>\u00a0for updates.<\/p>\n

Events, commencement and summer classes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

All university events through May 31 have been cancelled. This includes the in-person spring commencement ceremonies, convocations and related events. All summer academic sessions that start in May will be delivered online. NAU has not yet made a decision on classes starting later in the summer.<\/p>\n

Given that changes are taking place on a daily basis, NAU will make decisions on future events and classes 30 days in advance. Updates will be released on the website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pass\/Fail grading<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Effective immediately and for this semester only, all undergraduate and graduate students (with the exception of students in Personalized Learning programs) may convert Spring 2020 classes to Pass\/Fail (P\/F) grading with certain limitations.<\/p>\n

Students may submit requests to change the grading scale for classes by submitting the Request to Change Grading Basis form<\/a>. Student have until May 2 to request Pass\/Fail grading for a Spring 2020 class. Faculty will continue to assign grades as specified in the course syllabus.<\/p>\n

Spring 2020 housing and dining credits<\/strong><\/h3>\n

NAU will issue students who are able to move out of NAU residential housing by\u00a0April 16<\/strong> a credit that represents 25 percent of the spring semester’s housing and dining charges, which will be applied to outstanding balances that are on each student\u2019s account for those items. If a student has a credit balance after these are applied to spring housing or dining charges, that credit will be applied to any fall 2020 semester charges. Dining Dollars and block meal plan balances left at semester end will roll over to the next academic year.<\/p>\n
