Criteria was based on student-to-resident ratio, overall livability, cultural offerings, university presence, employment opportunities and populations of less than 100,000 people.<\/li>\n<li>Applied Behavior Analysis ranked NAU No. 26 on its list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.appliedbehavioranalysisprograms.com\/rankings\/online-aba-certificate-programs\/\">40 Best Applied Behavior Analysis Graduate Certificate Online Programs<\/a>. The program focus is <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/ed-specialties\/positive-behavior-support-cert\/\">positive behavior support<\/a> and uses applied behavior analysis to study and improve human behavior.<\/li>\n<li>Online College Plan ranked NAU No. 15 on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onlinecollegeplan.com\/rankings\/online-bachelors-in-criminal-justice\/\">30 Online Bachelor\u2019s In Criminal Justice<\/a> The program is a close-knit approach to education and offers an emphasis in criminal justice administration or intelligence studies.<\/li>\n<li>Nursing School Hub ranked NAU No. 2 on its list of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nursingschoolhub.com\/best-nursing-schools-in-arizona\/\">10 Best Nursing Programs in Arizona<\/a>. The program offers several different pathways for nurses to advance their careers, ranging from entry-level to established nurses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Anthropology instructor<strong> Samantha Clifford<\/strong> published a chapter entitled, \u201cPedagogical Opportunities to Foster Interaction and Deep Understanding Between International and Domestic University Students: Teaching Critical Reflexivity Through Interaction,\u201d in the book, \u201cPeople-Centered Approaches Toward the Internalization of Higher Education.\u201d The chapter is based on the university\u2019s anthropology course, Connecting Across Cultures.<\/li>\n<li>The American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM) awarded <strong>Amit Kumar<\/strong>, assistant professor of physical therapy and athletic training, the <a href=\"https:\/\/acrm.org\/about\/awards\/licht-award\/\">2020 ACRM Elizabeth and Sidney Licht Award<\/a> for his paper, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives-pmr.org\/article\/S0003-9993(19)30012-7\/fulltext\">Use of Hospital-Based Rehabilitation Services and Hospital Readmission Following Ischemic Stroke in the United States<\/a>.\u201d The paper examines the association between hospital-based rehabilitation service use and all-cause 30-day hospital readmission among patients with ischemic stroke.<\/li>\n<li>Assistant professor of rhetoric <strong>Ira Allen<\/strong> published an article titled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.berghahnjournals.com\/view\/journals\/screen-bodies\/4\/2\/screen040203.xml\">Negotiating Ubiquitous Surveillance<\/a>,\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.berghahnjournals.com\/view\/journals\/screen-bodies\/4\/2\/screen-bodies.4.issue-2.xml\">Screen Bodies: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Experience, Perception, and Display<\/a>. He also edited this special edition of the journal and the cover image titled, \u201cOpen Here,\u201d for the issue features the delivery robots familiar to NAU\u2019s campus.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jack Reid<\/strong>, learning specialist at the Academic Success Centers, published his first book, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/uncpress.org\/book\/9781469655000\/roadside-americans\/\">Roadside Americans: The Rise and Fall of Hitchhiking in a Changing Nation<\/a>.\u201d The book traces the changing views and attitudes toward hitchhikers in American society and offers insight to changes in the U.S. during the decline of liberalism and the rise of the Reagan Era.
