Attendees will gain insight into the way human interactions and relationships transform cultural and social institutions. The conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, March 6, in the NAU DuBois Ballroom. Students, faculty and institutes are invited to register and attend.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The conference will include keynote speaker <b>Annette McGivney, <\/b>senior lecturer at NAU, introducing &#8220;Pure Land and the Healing Power of Nature.\u201d McGivney is an award-winning environmental and wilderness writer and has authored two books: \u201cPure Land\u201d and \u201cBuilding Wood Fires.\u201d With many experiences in the world of social science, McGivney will share her views as applied to social change.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 6th Annual Social Science and Social Change Conference is sponsored by NAU\u2019s Society of Student Sociologists.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Prior to the event, <a href=\"http:\/\/nau.edu\/sociology\/social-science-social-change-conference-form\/\">registration can be completed online<\/a>. The conference is free to attend with a valid ID.
