{"id":5878,"date":"2011-12-02T08:57:59","date_gmt":"2011-12-02T15:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stage.headlessnauedu-b6hgdzckfdgxgzhe.westus-01.azurewebsites.net\/?p=5878"},"modified":"2012-12-05T10:50:08","modified_gmt":"2012-12-05T17:50:08","slug":"nau-alumni-named-exemplary-teachers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/nau-alumni-named-exemplary-teachers\/","title":{"rendered":"NAU alumni named exemplary teachers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eleven Northern Arizona University graduates were among the state\u2019s 25 teachers recently selected by the Rodel Charitable Foundation of Arizona for their outstanding work in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>The Rodel Exemplary Teacher Initiative recognizes teachers in high-need schools in Coconino, Maricopa and Pima counties each year. Fifteen of the 25 finalists receive a $10,000 savings bond and appointment to supervise and mentor six Rodel Promising Student Teachers for the next three years. The remaining 10 finalists receive a $1,000 savings bond.<\/p>\n<p>Seven of the 15 finalists earned degrees from NAU.<\/p>\n<p>Through the College of Education&#8217;s partnership with Rodel, one NAU student is placed with each of Flagstaff\u2019s Rodel teachers per semester.
