Join the Martin-Springer Institute at Northern Arizona University for the 2020 International Holocaust Remembrance Day event from 7-9 p.m. Jan. 27 at Prochnow Auditorium. The evening will feature award-winning author David Treuer speaking about the Holocaust and the history in Europe in the New World.<\/p>\n
The son of Robert Treuer, an Austrian Jew and Holocaust survivor, David Treuer is the recipient of a Pushcart Prize, two Minnesota Book Awards, and fellowships from the NEH, Bush Foundation and the Guggenheim Foundation. His book, “The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee,” was a 2019 finalist for both the National Book Award and Carnegie Medal. He divides his time between his home on the Leech Lake Reservation and Los Angeles, where he is a professor of English. \u201cThe Heartbeat of Wounded Knee\u201d will be available for purchase in Flagstaff at Brightside Bookshop.<\/p>\n
