The scholarship of $1,000 a year, for two years, can be used for tuition, campus housing or meals. Attending high school and graduating in Coconino County is the only requirement. A scholarship application is not required.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNAU recognizes the importance of educating the workforce that our county and state needs for the future,\u201d said NAU President <strong>Rita\u00a0Cheng<\/strong>.\u00a0\u201cThrough this scholarship, NAU seeks to remain Coconino County students\u2019 first choice for building their future. This scholarship will expand access to an NAU education for students in the region, enhance the vitality of our local economy and educate and prepare a workforce that meets the demands of the region and our state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of Coconino County residents are graduates of NAU and are living examples of the advantages an NAU degree can bring. Currently, half the households in the county have at least one NAU graduate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNAU and the surrounding community have much to gain from this partnership,\u201d said <strong>Anika Olsen<\/strong>, interim vice president of enrollment management. \u201cOur local community is an important component of what makes NAU a special place to live, work and learn.
