Thanks to the recent development of an enterprise tool,\ngetting tuition aid that benefits eligible NAU students in the military just\ngot a whole lot easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Department\nof Defense Tuition Assistance (DODTA)<\/a>, a student-centered solution created\nfor the Northern Arizona University Veteran and Military Services Department, has\nprovided tuition aid for NAU students in the military for years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Now, the process military students go through to apply for\nDODTA has been made easier by implementing the enterprise tool, OnBase. The paper\nprocess has been converted into an automated solution that utilizes an\nelectronic form and workflow. This allows the department to run more\nefficiently and with a pace capable of meeting students\u2019 needs faster. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to making it easier on the students to apply,\nthe system strengthens reporting efforts by the use of reporting dashboards,\nallowing employees to view real-time reports and graphs associated with the\nDODTA process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMany of these students are taking classes online while\nserving in the military halfway across the globe, so the real-time feedback is\nhugely helpful,\u201d said Laurie Jordon<\/strong>,\nassistant director of Veteran and Military Services, part of the Veteran\nand Military Success Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The automated process, created by student employee Noah Falzarano<\/strong> from the ITS Business\nProcess and Service Management (BPSM) team, and Enrollment Management business\nanalyst Jordan Jones<\/strong>, not only improves\nthe student experience but also allows the Veteran and Military Services to\nprovide better customer service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis will be very beneficial for tuition assistance\nreporting purposes,\u201d Jordon said. \u201cLess paperwork means fewer errors and better\ncustomer service.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
