Akin is the only player in the league to have been recognized as both Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week this season. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The following students received the <a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/undergraduate-research\/undergraduate-student-travel-awards\">Student Travel Award<\/a> to present their research at regional, national and international conferences. <ul><li>Two students presented at the 72<sup>nd<\/sup> Annual Meeting of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics in Seattle. <strong>Chadrick Jennings<\/strong> presented their research on \u201cNumerical Modeling of Prostatic Artery Embolization: Patient-Specific Blood Flow and Emboli Transport.\u201d <strong>Connor Moreno <\/strong>presented their research on \u201cWall Shear Stress Manifolds and Surface Temperature Patterns in Heat Transfer Enhancement Applications.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Sarah Frey<\/strong> presented their research on \u201cHuman Rights and Justice Issues in the Backdrop of Current Political Affairs and Global Conflict\u201d at the 2019 American Society of Criminology Conference: Criminology in the New Era: Confronting Injustice and Inequalities in San Francisco. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Caden Chamberlain <\/strong>presented their research on \u201cComparisons of LiDAR and Field-Derived Estimates of Crown Base Height and Canopy Bulk Density in Ponderosa Pine.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Jourdyn Riley<\/strong> presented their research on \u201cContemplative Rhetoric and Student Agency\u201d at the Western States Rhetoric and Literacy Conference in Bozeman, Montana.<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Two students presented research at the 15<sup>th<\/sup> Biennial Conference of Science and Management for the Colorado Plateau and Southwest Region in Flagstaff. <strong>Makenzie Meacham <\/strong>presented their research on \u201cSpring Diets of Antelope and Black-Tailed Jackrabbits.\u201d <strong>Rebeca Stephens<\/strong> presented their research on \u201cCost-effective and Reliable Methods to Genetically Fingerprint Horses using Degraded Scat.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Two students presented research for the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery in Miami Beach, Florida. <strong>Isaac Smith<\/strong> presented their research on \u201cParticle Counting Through In-Line Holography.\u201d <strong>Nicholas Norris <\/strong>presented their research on \u201cIn-Vitro Vascular Model Material Characterization.\u201d <\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Two students presented research at the 2019 Botany Conference in Tucson. <strong>Landon Kuestersteffen <\/strong>presented their research on \u201cAssessing Effects of Symbiosis between Soil Organisms and Vascular Plants for Mojave Desert Restoration.\u201d <strong>Casey Hensen<\/strong> presented their research on \u201cMeasuring Productivity at Varying Richness Levels of Biocrust Communities.\u201d<\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Megan Gialluca <\/strong>presented their research at the 2019 TESS Science Conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts. <\/li><\/ul><ul><li><strong>Tianna Jordening <\/strong>presented their research on \u201cDevelopment of a Taxonomic Structure to Support Automatic Recognition of Eating Behaviors\u201d at the International Conference on Ambulatory Monitoring of Physical Activity and Movement in Maastricht, Netherlands. <\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/wordpresst\/uploads\/sites\/153\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/NAU-Tennis-232x174.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57701\" width=\"234\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2019\/10\/NAU-Tennis-232x174.jpg 232w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2019\/10\/NAU-Tennis-800x600.jpg 800w, https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/402\/2019\/10\/NAU-Tennis-464x348.jpg 464w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 234px) 100vw, 234px\" \/><figcaption>                                         <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Senior tennis player <strong>Chiara Tomasetti<\/strong> won the ITA Mountain Regional singles championship securing her as a two-time regional champion. Her win qualifies her to compete in the Oracle ITA National Championships held in Newport Beach, California. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Art education student <strong>Vanessa Mora<\/strong> was awarded the Outstanding Pre-Service Art Educator award by the Arizona Art Education Association at the annual conference, Get Fired Up.
