Flagstaff Community Safety (FCS), a program formed with the goal of creating a better community, is hosting two free community events on violent attack response and first aid skills. These events are co-sponsored by the Coconino County Sheriff\u2019s Office and the Flagstaff Police Department; officers from both will provide training and knowledge of contemporary industry standards on the topics of discussion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Northern Arizona University students, faculty and staff,\nalong with community members, are encouraged to participate in FCS training in\naddition to the active shooter response training and general safety\/security programs<\/a> created by\nNAUPD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCivilian Response to Active Shooter\/Attack\u201d will prepare attendees in courses of action for when a violent attack might occur. The class will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at the DoubleTree Hilton, 1175 W. Route 66. Register for free online<\/a> by Nov. 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIntro to Stop the Bleed\u201d equips community members with vital medical skills that could potentially save a life during an act of violence. The class will prepare attendees for certification upon completing the hands-on portion of \u201cStop the Bleed<\/a>.\u201d Join FCS 6-7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the DoubleTree Hilton, 1175 W. Route 66.
