{"id":56655,"date":"2019-08-23T14:16:33","date_gmt":"2019-08-23T21:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/?p=56655"},"modified":"2019-08-23T14:36:26","modified_gmt":"2019-08-23T21:36:26","slug":"second-annual-community-welcome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/second-annual-community-welcome\/","title":{"rendered":"Connect NAU to Flagstaff: Volunteers needed for Second Annual Community Welcome"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At Northern Arizona University, Aug. 26 not only brings the\nstart of classes for the Fall 2019 semester, but also the Second Annual\nCommunity Welcome\u2014an event to foster a sense of community amongst students\nand long-term\nFlagstaff\nresidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Volunteer teams made up of NAU students, faculty and staff, city employees and Flagstaff and NAU police go door-to-door visiting homes in neighborhoods close to campus, and distribute valuable educational materials on being a good neighbor and city ordinances, and spend time getting to know and hearing from the neighbors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to knock on more than 450 doors, NAU is asking for your help.
