The Northern Arizona University-sponsored company will perform at unique locations in Mayer, Flagstaff and Sedona with the goal of telling both old and new stories in culturally relevant and imaginative ways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Carol Ann Duffy\u2019s \u201cEveryman\u201d performed at Arcosanti July 12<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>A staged reading of playwright Carol Ann Duffy&#8217;s adaptation of the 15th-century morality play \u201cEveryman\u201d kicks off the company\u2019s fourth season at 7 p.m. on July 12 at Arcosanti\u2019s open-air amphitheater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u201cIn this high-energy reimagining of the medieval morality play, Everyman is forced to account for his&nbsp;materialistic, hedonistic lifestyle when confronted by Death,\u201d director <strong>Christina Gutierrez-Dennehy<\/strong> said. \u201cDirectly confronting our modern technology-driven lifestyles, the play asks highly current questions&nbsp;about morals and meaning.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets for \u201cEveryman\u201d are a suggested $10 donation at the door. Tickets may be purchased online by <a href=\"https:\/\/arcosanti.org\/visit\/events\/\">visiting Arcosanti\u2019s event page<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/arcosanti.org\/\">Arcosanti<\/a> is at 13555 S. Cross L Road in Mayer, Arizona. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Shakespear&#8217;s &#8220;King Lear&#8221; at Lowell Observatory July 21 &amp; 28 and at El Portal Sedona Hotel July 26-27 <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Later in July, Crooked Figure Theatre Company presents&nbsp;the William&nbsp;Shakespeare tragedy \u201cKing Lear.\u201d The play&nbsp;traces Lear&#8217;s descent into anxiety, paranoia and&nbsp;schizophrenia after banishing his youngest daughter. The cast\u2019s performance will explore the issues of mental health, parenthood and leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flagstaff performances of \u201cKing Lear\u201d\nare at 6:30 p.m. on July 21 and 28 at <a href=\"https:\/\/lowell.edu\/\">Lowell Observatory<\/a> located at 1400 W. Mars Hill Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKing Lear\u201d performances in Sedona are at 6 p.m. on July 26-27 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.elportalsedona.com\/\">El Portal Hotel<\/a> at 95 Portal Lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tickets for \u201cKing Lear\u201d are a suggested\n$20 donation for the public and a $10 suggested donation for students and\nseniors.&nbsp;Tickets can be purchased at the door for both events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crooked Figure Theatre Company is a site-specific summer\nstock company housed within the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nau.edu\/cal\/theatre\/\">Northern Arizona University Department of\nTheatre<\/a>.
