This marks the first time the concert offerings have extended into the summer. The five Sunday afternoon performances will be held in Kitt Recital Hall, offering guests an acoustically vibrant, intimate setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May 19, 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cAwakening the Fire\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R. Carlos Nakai &amp; Will Clipman<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grammy-nominees R. Carlos Nakai and Will Clipman delve into a primal sonic odyssey, where the ancient call of the Native American cedar flute and vibration of African, Native American and Asian rhythms intersect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May 26, 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cCelebrating Miles Davis\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fred Forney Quintet<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This special birthday celebration for Miles Davis, who was born on May 26, 1926, includes music from the albums \u201cKind of Blue,\u201d \u201cPorgy and Bess,\u201d \u201cESP,\u201d \u201cRound Midnight,\u201d \u201cCookin\u2019\u201d and compositions by Miles\u2019s sidemen during the 1950s and early \u201860s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>June 9, 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThe Prince of Instruments\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ronn McFarlane, <\/strong><strong><em>lute<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Grammy-nominated lutenist Ronn McFarlane performs a combination of Renaissance and Baroque music, Scottish and Irish tunes from the 17th and 18th centuries and his own Celtic- and Americana-inspired lute music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>July 7, 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cIn Pursuit of Love\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gryphon Trio<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canadian ensemble Gryphon Trio\u2014winners of a 2019 Juno Award\u2014pairs monuments of the piano trio repertoire by Beethoven and Ravel with a recently commissioned work by Sri Lanka-born composer Dinuk Wijeratne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>July 14, 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThe Three Bs\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phoenix Symphony Chamber Players<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A trio of trios for winds, strings and piano by J.S. Bach, Beethoven and Brahms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admission to the Horizons Concert Series is $22.50 for adults and $15 for seniors and NAU faculty and staff.
