Children ages six to 10 (exceptions possible for older children who love bugs) will learn about insect history and biodiversity through activities such as collecting insects, building their own bugs and preparing and sharing insect cuisine with invited family and friends. Two weeklong sessions will be held at <a href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/cpmab\/camp\/\">Willow Bend Environmental Education Center<\/a> located within Coconino County\u2019s Sawmill Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The camps run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in two\nsessions: June 17-21 and July 8-12. Registration for the July camp is full, but\ninterested individuals are encouraged to register and be added to a waitlist in\nthe event that spots open up or additional spots are created. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doctoral student <strong>Lindsie\nMcCabe<\/strong> will be the 2019 camp leader. Her graduate research involves\nunderstanding the effects of climate change on native bees. The assistant camp\nleader will be graduate student <strong>Paige\nChessire,<\/strong> who is researching plant-insect interactions along an elevation\ngradient. Education student <strong>Lily Davis<\/strong>\nwill return as a veteran counselor who helps coordinate outreach and activity\nplanning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is an enrollment fee of $215 per child. NAU staff and\nfaculty will receive a $15 per child discount if they register before the first\nof the month in which the camp runs. Scholarships are available for families\nthat fall under Flagstaff mean annual income levels.
