As part of Northern Arizona University\u2019s Center for Health Equity Research, the Southwest Health Equity Research Collaborative (SHERC) will host a Manuscript Writing Workshop from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 15 and 16 in Cline Library, Room 200. <\/span><\/p>\n This two-day workshop welcomes <\/span>postdoctoral fellows, early-career faculty, including assistant professors and all other faculty who conduct research in the basic biomedical, clinical or behavioral sciences and who have yet to publish extensively. <\/span>Led by Laurence Greene, author of \u201cWriting in the Life Sciences: A Critical Thinking Approach,\u201d the workshop also will feature a panel discussion led by SHERC senior faculty. <\/span><\/p>\n Designed to support staff in planning, drafting and revising scientific manuscripts, the overall goal is to improve the quality and productivity of writing for high-impact journals. Topics to be covered include goal-directed and audience-centered strategies in content development, creating effective sentences and constructing unified, coherent paragraphs.\u00a0<\/span>One-on-one mentoring will be available to participants at no cost after the workshop.<\/span><\/p>\n Prerequisites and eligibility for participating in the workshop are:<\/b><\/p>\n Space for the Manuscript Writing Workshop is limited and advanced registration is required.
