In \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fatherly.com\/health-science\/how-to-cook-chicken-without-making-your-kids-sick-antibiotic-resistant-bacteria\/\">How to Cook Chicken That Won\u2019t Make Your Kids Sick<\/a>,\u201d Koch writes as a father and scientist on the dangers of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in raw meat and tips on how to prepare meals safely.<\/li>\n<li>Physics and astronomy professor <strong>David Trilling<\/strong> co-authored a white paper on Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) cadence. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/1901.08549\">Enabling Deep All-Sky Searches of Outer Solar System Objects<\/a>\u201d contributes to LSST\u2019s goal of mapping the solar system small body populations to better understand its formation and evolution.<\/li>\n<li>Minor Endowed Professor <strong>Pete Ful\u00e9<\/strong> in the School of Forestry collaborated with visiting scholar Louise Fuchs and Museum of Northern Arizona representative Larry Stevens to publish a study in the journal Forest Ecology and Management. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0378112718317663\">Dendrochronological assessment of springs effects on ponderosa pine growth, Arizona, USA<\/a>\u201d uses tree-ring analysis to highlight that ponderosa pines growing close to small springs in the forest had consistently higher growth and less sensitivity to drought compared to similar trees located farther away, showing that springs may play a crucial role in buffering the effects of climate change on nearby trees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"search-results-excerpt-link\" href=\"https:\/\/in.nau.edu\/news\/in-the-spotlight-feb-8-2019\/\">Kudos to these\u00a0faculty and staff \u00a0Do you have a spotlight item to share with the NAU community?
